Visitors, be ware.
I’ve tried to warn folks, but I don’t think they’ve been taking me seriously. If you come to visit, be prepared to be put to work. The photo below is proof.
Donald was here the other weekend – he had a break in shipping cattle – and was quickly put to work fixing fence. Then James came over with the hopes of doing some riding on the minibike track, and he too was put on a mission. But, to be fair, we put our two boys (2 years and 8 months) to work too.
Ok, so they may not have been a ton of help, but Nolan did act as a good “gopher” (you know, the person who always “goes for” something)…. he ran back and forth between the guys and the tools, getting them what they needed.
All of the hard work eventually took its toll…. I went to take the boys for a little walk, and about 30 seconds into it, they were both conked out.
We may disobey the child labor laws, but at least the kids are secured in car seats when they help daddy out in the backhoe. With two car seats now mounted in the backhoe, I get some great free time while B gets some more work done around the property.
Of course, you can’t leave the yellow dog out – she loves the backhoe too! She has her own little spot in front, complete with carpet and everything. Spoiled much? Yep.
