Well, we’ve added a couple new members to our bunch…. welcome Rita and Sylvia.
So, this photo may not be of their finer side (or maybe it is), but they haven’t quite learned how to cooperate with the camera, so this is all they’ll be sharing for the time being. Rita and Sylvia will be inhabiting our back pasture and assisting with vegetation control – and they look pretty darn cute wandering around behind the house.
And just to update you on the poison sumac, as I know you’re all on pins and needles… we are finally starting to clear up. Still a bit itchy, but that’s mainly due to the severe dry skin, which is a result of the steroid/cortizone cream that we used to help make the lovely blisters go down. I’m tellin’ ya, poison sumac is some nasty stuff – google it folks, you do NOT want to get into this, EVER. On the bright side, we’re doing so well, we were able to handle doing some riding yesterday – speaking of which….
I am so amazingly out of shape, it is not even remotely funny. I haven’t been riding, really riding, for over a year due to the whole being pregnant thing. Yesterday, we meet up with another couple, who also have a little kid, to go spend a day riding – figured they boys and girls would take turns watching the wee ones so the others could go for a good ride. Long story short, the other mom (also named Amy) had a little spill, so she decided to stay at camp with the kids while the rest of us went for a ride. Forty some odd miles later…. we get back to camp just before 9pm. Good gosh, that was one long, tiring ride – so much fun and definitely worth it, but I am definitely paying for it today. My butt seriously needs to get back in shape, and fast! Seeing as how I can now wear shoes again, it’s time for me to get into the early morning workout routine.
